"Varying high contrast contour lines simulating light and shade in simplified compositions of nature done in a Razor style." Painting as "Razor" Daniel Ruiz has been working on the series RazorFlowers since 1999. Creating original paintings and limited edition block prints Razor currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama USA. History His passion for art was realized in the form of "piecing" graffiti with with the name "Razor", but Daniel "grew up doing art", always coloring, drawing, or muraling something he thought was cool. Growing up his dad was the one who managed to gift art tools and materials and his mother, bless her heart, had to put up with the exploring artist although she was his number one fan; extremely proud and encouraging of his work. After excelling in High School art and photography classes and winning awards in Fallon Nevada Daniel went on to Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa California where he studied drawing and product illustration for three semesters while working in the sign industry. With a strong sense of design and composition Daniel spent 10 years in graphic design and web development designing a broad spectrum of styles for clients. In 1999 Daniel's father passed away suddenly and feeling faced with time and the quality of life, Daniel made a promise to himself to always do art as often as possible. The result is Razor Fine Art. Razor Fine Art Free to do what he wants Daniel has vision. That vision and freedom has brought forth a fresh new take on fine art with flourishing flowers, stylized contour lines, captivating contrast, relaxing perspectives and the idea to "make a big deal out of something simple". Deliberately exploring color, composition and subject matter, even his murals show that special Razor styling giving you "something you can just continually look at and not get bored of".
